Under the NHS General Medical Services contract, all surgeries must provide essential medical services. As well as these services, City Health Care also offers a number of extra NHS-qualifying services. You’ll find a selection of these below. By offering the maximum possible number of services, we aim to give patients the best possible experience and outcomes.
The doctor is approved to carry out minor surgical operations and joint injections. It will be necessary to discuss the problem with the doctor so that an operation/appointment can be arranged if necessary.
Well Baby Clinic
Health Visitor Andrea Salmon (RN, RM, HV, LLB, ENB998). Clinic’s are held at Katie Road Health Centre Mondays between 13.30 and 15.30 and Thursdays between 8:30am and 11:00am to offer advice and support to parents of under 5s. Telephone contact for the Health Vistor Team 0121 466 5910.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Clinics
These clinics will be run by our Practice Nurse Jenny Hughes and Include: asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, well woman/man, heart disease prevention, dietary advice, smoking cessation, NHS Health Checks for the over 40s

- contraceptive advice
- emergency contraception
- sexual health advice & information
- IUD (coil) fitting
- pregnancy counselling
